A clear, practical answer
How to Choose a Parking Number Card: Phone vs QR
When choosing a parking number card, check what it displays publicly, whether a scanner needs an app, whether the QR can be revoked, and how an alert reaches you. A traditional card is simple for direct calls; a controlled QR page can send prepared notifications without displaying the account number.

A parking number card makes an owner reachable while the vehicle is parked, but drivers want different things. Some want every person to call directly; others want alerts about lights, a window, parking, or damage without displaying a personal number.
Ask whether you want unrestricted calls or controlled vehicle alerts. The right format follows that answer, not the price or the word QR on the package.
The traditional phone number card
A traditional card is inexpensive, obvious, and needs no software. A passer-by can call directly without connectivity to an app or notification permission. Its strongest feature is simplicity.
The trade-off is that the number is visible to everybody who sees the glass, at every hour. Changing it means changing the card, and the owner cannot control who saves it. If privacy matters, that exposure may outweigh the purchase price.
A direct-call QR and a controlled QR are different
Some QR number cards open a call or WhatsApp link. Even when the digits are not printed in large type, the link may transfer the number to the scanner. That is a digital version of the traditional card.
A controlled vehicle QR opens a page of prepared alerts instead. The scanner picks a reason and the owner receives an app notification. CarQR does not publish the account number by default and uses preset alerts instead of open chat.
A seven-point buying checklist
Check what appears on the public page, whether the scanner must register, and which prepared alerts are available. The owner should be able to deactivate a code when a sticker is lost or a vehicle is sold.
Review delivery method, spam limits, the real scope of any free plan, and the print direction and material of a physical product. Treat absolute promises such as perfect security, guaranteed instant delivery, or unverifiable user counts cautiously.
Find support and data deletion routes. A contact address, privacy notice, account deletion process, and the identity of the operator should be publicly available.
Which option fits you?
Choose the classic card if you want direct calls without an app and accept displaying the number. A controlled QR page may fit better if you want specific vehicle alerts without putting the account number in public.
Fleets, rental companies, valet teams, and residential parking need more than individual cards: multi-vehicle inventory, team routing, and permissions. Evaluate the business dashboard and per-vehicle management model separately.
Frequently asked questions
What is a parking number card?
It is a windscreen card or QR label that lets somebody reach the owner of a parked vehicle. A traditional card displays a number; a QR may open a contact or alert page.
Is a QR parking number card secure?
It depends on the design. No personal data in the code, revocation, bot checks, and send limits reduce risk, but no system can promise zero abuse.
Does the scanner need an app for a QR number card?
Not with CarQR. The camera opens a web page and the person sends a prepared alert without an account.
Can I use a free QR parking card?
CarQR Free QR includes a digital code and core alert flow for the first vehicle. You can export PDF or SVG and print it yourself; physical premium kits are separate.
